Winters Community Tree Fund

About the Fund

The Winters Community Tree Fund started in 2020 as a way to help families who may need a little extra help getting a tree around the holidays. One of the creators has fond memories of living in the California foothills and getting freshly cut trees every Christmas. Having a real Christmas Tree became a core part of the holiday season for him, a feeling that endures even today.

The goal of the fund is to help create those kinds of warm memories for families and children in Winters that are otherwise priced out of getting a tree.

Trees are purchased from and delivered by the Winters FFA, boosting the student group's efforts while also helping local families. Outside of the organizers and the Winters High School Ag teachers, recipients and sponsors are always completely anonymous.

The fund is 100% community funded through contributions, with any unused funds rolling over to the next year so if you are able, we need your help in the form of contributions to the fund to ensure we can provide a tree to everyone who asks.

While the Winters Community Tree Fund is a charitable group, we are not a 501(c)(3). We are merely a collection of friends looking to help the community.
